This image is created in black ink on paper. It represents a steamboat labeled “R. G. McCalla” on the water. The boat is at a dock on which there is a dockhouse and a small rowboat. In the background, two figures row on the water. Beyond their boat, a hill rises in the background. There is a house and a power pole on top of the hill.
In this circular, black and white print, a single figure carries a filled sack over a makeshift wooden bridge toward a two story watermill building with a water wheel on the side. The river powering the wheel runs along the bottom right of the print, while fields undulate twoard a distant group of buildings beyond the figure carrying the sack. At the bottom of the print is a small still life with implements related to grain milling--two ears of corn, a winnowing basket, a large sack, a basket, and a scoop.
