On March 11th, the BMA hosted its seventh annual Holi celebration. Over 2,000 people came out to enjoy traditional Indian dance performances,  special tastings of vegetable pakoras from Taj India, and exploration of the Museum’s collection of South East Asian art! Henna artists decorated visitors’ hands, and guests of all ages participated in art activities throughout the Museum. At the end of the day, everyone went outside to play Holi, the throwing of powdered colors, a traditional part of Holi celebrations around the world.

The BMA would like to thank Medical Properties Trust for its sponsorship of the 2016–2017 Family Festivals Series, and the Indian Cultural Society and Taj India for helping us bring the beautiful traditions of Holi to the Museum once again.
