Five Resolutions for an Artful New Year

/ Uncategorized

Happy New Year! If you plan to make resolutions for 2019, keep reading. Here are five we can help you keep.

Slow down.

After the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, we all could use a little R&R. Let the Museum be your quiet escape. Slow down during our weekly Slow Art Sunday program, where visitors are invited to spend time looking closely and discussing a single work of art.

Learn something new.

Explore your creative side in one of our many Studio School classes this year! Studio School offers a wide range of art classes for adults and children, including painting, drawing, printmaking, pottery, and more. Registration for 2019 classes is now open on our Studio School page!

Get involved.

Are you interested in learning more about art, giving back to your Museum and community, and meeting friends with similar interests? Become a BMA volunteer! You’ll find more information about volunteer opportunities for teens and adults on our Volunteer page.

Expand your worldview.

You can travel the world without leaving the Magic City! Discover the armor of ancient samurai warriors in the Japanese galleries. Explore religious sculpture in the East Asian galleries. Experience the largest collection of Wedgwood ceramics outside of England. Yes, it’s all here in Birmingham!

Join us on January 19 for the Japanese Heritage Festival presented by Medical Properties Trust! Highlighting the day will be a traditional tea ceremony demonstration by the Chado Urasenke Tankokai Birmingham Association.

Show your support.

Your 100% tax deductible gift helps the Museum find innovative ways to reach new audiences by offering dynamic exhibitions, fresh educational programming, and entertaining events for all ages, backgrounds, and interests. You help us keep admission FREE for everyone! If you are considering making a donation to the Museum this year, please visit our Annual Fund page.
