Education Gallery

Students from public schools throughout the Birmingham metropolitan area contributed to this annual exhibition. This year, Chinese New Year begins January 31 and celebrates the horse. The Chinese consider the horse as energetic, intelligent, and warm-hearted. Look for horses in the Museum’s collection of Chinese art on the third floor!

The BMA is commited to being an active civic partner in our community. For over 30 years, the Museum has collaborated with school systems, teachers, and students to provide innovative arts experiences that enable students to develop creativity, innovation, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate. These skills are crucial for success as students continue their education and enter the workplace.

For many years, the Museum has also partnered with the Chinese community and the Birmingham Chinese Festival Association; this exhibition continues that tradition. The Museum values opportunities to collaborate, combine strengths, and provide vital cultural resources for the continued growth and expanded awareness of the community.
