Call me cat lady.
Since you probably won’t be gifting an actual pet, The Museum Shop has the next best thing – wooden, porcelain, or paper animal-inspired items from around the world. They come in the shape of napkin holders, stuffed toys, figurines, jewelry, and even as soap! My personal favorite is the white alpaca dog, which is just as soft as my pet huskie Bandit. If I can’t bring him to work, this is the next best thing! — Rebecca Schaller, Development Events Manager

Practical, but make it fashion.
I bought a pair of Hot Sox for myself because they keep your feet warm and they’re really artistic. It’s like wearing a piece of art all the time! — Jestina Howard, Special Events Manager

Wrapped in warmth.
I think these throws make a great gift because they’re versatile and can be placed at the foot of a bed, displayed over a chair, or you could even wear it as a travel wrap. — Marty Robbins, The Museum Shop Manager

Take the Museum with you.
BMA books are a great way to share the Museum with friends and there is something for everyone—  Birmingham history, Contemporary art, Asian textiles, and Southern folk art, to name a few! Plus, they look great on a coffee table. — Kristi Taft, Exhibitions Officer

For the host with the most.
These cool geometric coasters are the perfect holiday gift! I would get these for a gift exchange game, a host or hostess gift, or stocking stuffers. Or you can buy them for yourself to protect your table from all those holiday cocktails. — Lindsey Hammel, Manager for Visitors and Volunteer Services

Wedgwood wishes do come true.
I collect Wedgwood, so I buy something for myself in the shop every year. I bought a Wedgwood clock this year, and the ornaments make great gifts, too. — Regina Paul Ray, Training Security Officer

Painting, and drawing, and crafting, oh my!
I love giving my friends gift certificates for Studio School classes. It makes an easy gift because they can choose from so many different topics and experience levels. We made a girls night out of it last year and took a Craft Tuesday class together. — Laura Monroe, Marketing and Communications Coordinator

You get a candle. You get a candle. Everybody gets a candle!
I like shopping local and these candles are by a great local vendor. Plus, they smell amazing and would look great in your home!  — Patrick Brock, Shop Associate

Better than the Jelly of the Month Club.
An option that people might not be aware of is the gift of membership. It is a unique gift for the creative in your life or for the person who has everything… and it gives back! You can offer your special someone access to members-only perks in the shop, cafe, and Studio School while also giving back to the community. Memberships help keep Museum admission free to all and help fund education initiatives throughout Birmingham. — Johnny McIntosh, Chief Financial Officer
