/ Uncategorized

Art On The Rocks has become synonymous with great music, delicious food, and beautiful art, and the best of Birmingham creative community. In the past, we’ve partnered with local graffiti artists, dance crews, and poets, to name a few, and this year is no exception. Check out 4 awesome new Art On The Rocks features, brought to you by some of our favorite community partners.

  1.  Games On The Rocks //  It’s not a proper Southern summer without a few lawn games, right? Complete with dice, dominos, and bocce ball, Games On The Rocks, hosted by our friends at MAKEbhm, is stocked and ready for play in the Museum’s outdoor sculpture pit. Recently relocated to Avondale, MAKEbhm is home to a number of Birmingham’s most talented creative startups and ventures.
  2. Henna Tats // The Gypsy Leaf’s Laura Hopper will be helping us adorn the hands of Art On The Rocks guests with Henna tattoos in the Museum’s cafe tomorrow night. Known for her artistic Henna-handiwork at festivals all around town, we expect to see Hopper’s beautiful Art On The Rocks stylings all over social media. Don’t forget to tag us!
  3. Bedazzling Station // Ready to turn heads at work with a one-of-a-kind, rhinestone covered bandana or tote bag? Oh yes, we’ll be throwing it back to the 90’s with Yellowhammer Creative at our rad bedazzling station! Started in 2009 by designers Brett Forsyth and Brandon Watkins, the folks at Yellowhammer Creative are known for their retro screen prints, album covers, and more.
  4. Neo-Soul Songstress // Love Moor is a neo-soul singer who builds beautifully crafted, revealing melodies that revolve around themes of sexuality, nostalgia, abandonment, and self love. She is The First Lady of “Loner Dreamer, Lover Rebel,” an independent label based in Birmingham, and she’ll have you swaying to the sounds before Amasa Hines hits the stage at 10PM.
