The Museum is proud to present artworks created by students in the Birmingham City School System. These artworks celebrate the creativity and talent of students as well as their art teachers in schools throughout Birmingham.
Art instruction is an important part of a well rounded education. The arts not only enrich our lives but also are valuable learning tools that reinforce skills in reading, writing, social studies, science, and math. Art education develops self-esteem, self-expression, and an appreciation for the ideas and work of others.
The Museum is committed to being an active civic partner in our community. For over 30 years, it has collaborated with school systems, teachers, and students to provide innovative arts experiences that enable students to develop creativity, innovation, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills as well as the ability to collaborate – important skills for success as students continue their education and enter the work place.
