Summer Art Camp

Campers creating art during Summer Art Camp

The Museum’s Studio Summer Art Camp is the only summer experience in the region that gives your camper immediate access to our collection of original artworks from around the world.

This summer’s camp will use Third Space, the largest exhibition of contemporary art from the Museum’s own collection, to serve as a springboard for ideas to contemplate, discuss, and create original works of art. Third Space creates connections between the American South and other parts of the world using contemporary art from artists working in a range of disciplines with varying backgrounds, from those academically trained to those self-taught. The exhibition centers on themes that include: identity, nature, traditions, and migration.

Campers will tour the exhibition with Museum docents and work their own creative magic in the studios with certified teaching artists and prominent local artists. This is an extraordinary opportunity that should not be missed!
