The Birmingham Museum of Art is proud to present its nineteenth Youth Art Month exhibition in March 2012. Youth Art Month was established to recognize the essential role of art in a balanced education. Artwork will be accepted for all grades. A reception to honor the students will be held on Sunday, March 4 from 3:00 to 4:30.

Discover the masterpieces created by the youth of Alabama, and see firsthand how the visual arts can impact change in our communities and young citizens. Each March, the Birmingham Museum of Art and the art educators of Alabama celebrate the creativity and talent of our state's youth in this exhibition. The purpose of National Youth Art Month is to emphasize the value of art education for all students and to encourage support for quality art education programs. The Youth Art Month exhibition provides a forum for acknowledging skills that are fostered through experience in the visual arts that are not possible in other subjects offered in the curriculum.

Support these young artists by visiting this wonderfully diverse exhibition, and help keep Alabama arts education a priority.
