Join us on April 8th to celebrate International Slow Art Day with meditation, yoga, and art!

Slow Art Day began in 2009 with volunteers hosting events at 16 museums and galleries in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The BMA joined early, with volunteer-run Slow Art Days starting in 2010. So far this year, 158 museums and galleries from around the world are participating in Slow Art on Apr 8th. The BMA is taking Slow Art Day one step further by integrating art with mindfulness. The day will be filled with activities that take a slow approach to our fast paced lives.

Schedule:

10:30am: Slow Art Session, Crow booming the One Big Water, Gulls flying away by Merritt Johnson // led by Master docent Emily Omura// Third Space

11:30am: Meditation session led by Lama Deshek// Third Floor Galleries

1:00pm: Slow Art Session, Dry Bones by Mose Tolliver // led by Master docent Julia Stork// Third Space

2:00pm: Yoga with Natalie Peach (Bring your own yoga mat!)

5:00pm: Sand Mandala Presentation // 8th Ave Lobby
