In this richly illustrated talk, Graham Boettcher, Phd, the William Carey Hulsey Curator of American Art, discusses Victorian era mourning customs and practices, including fashion, jewelry, and the tradition of mourning portraiture, including works by the Alabama artist Nicola Marschall.
