As part of Birmingham’s city-wide One In Our Blood initiative, the Birmingham Museum of Art is proud to present a panel discussion to address the U.S. blood donation policy as both a civil right and a science issue, and its connection to HIV/AIDS, art, and activism. The panel will feature: ACT UP founding member and current GMHC VP of Public Affairs and Policy, Eric Sawyer; ACT UP founding member and TAG co-founder Peter Staley; Co-founder and Executive Director of SC HIV/AIDS Council Dr Bambi Gaddist. The panel will be moderated by Visual AIDS Program Director and blood donor in Blood Mirror, Alex Fialho.
